Divorce in India and Pakistan follows different laws than divorce in England and Wales. Pakistan for example uses Sharia Law. During an international divorce, it is important that consideration is given as to which jurisdiction is more suitable based on a variety of factors, including where the couple are residing, domicile and the connections they have with each country.
We can advise our clients whether you married in Pakistan or India and live in England or Wales, or you live outside England with a legally binding marriage in Pakistan or India.
Based in London, Goodwins Family Law Solicitors is a fully accredited firm and our solicitors have many years of experience in dealing with divorce, child custody and financial settlements involving India and Pakistan. This also includes a range of high net worth and complex cases.
