Elizabeth Sulkin

Family Consultant

Elizabeth qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and has spent her career specialising in the area of family law. She joins Collins & Hoy as a Family Consultant after many years as Head of Family at LMK Law.

She has developed a broad based family practice, covering all areas under the family law umbrella – whether working with married or unmarried couples, or same sex couples – from divorce and financial issues, including pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements, to domestic violence and children disputes.

At the heart of Elizabeth’s approach is how to meet the individual needs of each of her clients, and the importance of maintaining an empathetic and effective working relationship with them.

Where possible Elizabeth will try to explore ways of resolving disputes constructively. As well as being well versed in a more traditional litigation practice, Elizabeth is committed to considering with her clients the various different routes of Non Court Dispute Resolution and the benefits they bring to her clients in achieving effective and early settlements for them, enabling them to move forward in their lives.

She is an experienced Accredited Mediator with the Family Mediation Council (FMC) and offers Mediation to clients in relation to both Financial and Children matters. She is qualified to conduct MIAMs (Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings). She is qualified to meet directly with children as a Child Inclusive Mediator. She also offers the Hybrid Mediation model, where clients can be accompanied by their lawyers to support them within the Mediation process.

As an Accredited Mediator of many years standing she is also a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC), providing mentoring services to both other accredited Mediators and qualified Mediators seeking accreditation.

Elizabeth is an Accredited Specialist with Resolution. She sits on the Resolution Domestic Abuse Committee, and is an assessor for the Resolution Accreditation Scheme.
